Vasco Cadavez obtained his PhD in Zootechnical Engineering at the Portuguese University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. He is Coordinator Professor in the Animal Science Department of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal; and has wide expertise in general linear models, linear and non-linear mixed models, count data models, dynamic models, optimisation and meta-analysis which he has applied in the fields of animal science, agriculture and food safety. Dr. Cadavez has published ~$60$ peer-reviewed papers; has disseminated his research at $>50$ conferences; has organised and taught at $12$ international workshops/symposia; and has supervised $20$ postgraduate students. He leads the “Food Safety and Quality Analytics” research team at CIMO-IPB, and is Editor-in-Chief of the Portuguese Journal Revista Portuguesa de Zootecnia.
