The Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) of the USDA Agricultural Research Service is a pioneer in predictive microbiology, and has maintained an active research programme since its inception. The Residue Chemistry and Predictive Microbiology Research Unit (RCPM RU) has specialised research teams led by Dr. Lihan Huang, Research Leader working on various aspects of predictive microbiology. The ERRC is funded by the USDA to conduct fundamental and applied research of national importance.
The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES) Laboratory for Food Safety provides support to public decision-makers through general scientific expertise on the quality and safety of foodstuffs, and more specific scientific expertise on certain processing sectors. Its work is focused on biological (bacteria, viruses, parasites) and chemical (toxins, metals, pesticides, organic pollutants, histamine) hazards found, and likely to be found, in foods, particularly during distribution and consumption.
